In this Performance Art , artists take a look at the relationship between painting and performance, painting as performance and performances of painting.
Painter Yves Klein focused on making monochromatic paintings, paintings of one single, uniform colour, most famously of his own pigment, International Klein Blue. He staged performances where he directed naked female models covered in his paint to press body on the piece of paper, accompanied by a small orchestra playing his Monotone Symphony (a composition of one single note, as the monochromatic paintings were of one single colour). I find it so impressive how by the experience of the music people create painting through the performance, connecting different forms of art. It gives a feeling of presence and unique experience, as public understands that it is impossible to create absolutely the same performances twice (they always would be slightly different).
